All-Star Game

What better topic to return me to the blogging world than the all-star game tonight.

I just saw Phil Garner saying there will be no signs. Yeah...and this game really means something...

Remember when being an allstar was a privilege and players wanted to play. I don't, except from when I was in Little League and wanted to be an allstar. I wish 20 million dollars a year didn't change that love for the game in people.

That being said, I'm glad Manny Ramirez isn't playing. Sure, I wish I could watch him tonight, but I'd much rather have him healthy as the Sox try to hold off the Y*#$#@(s than get an AB or two in an exhibition game. And his knee really is hurting.

The fact is, baseball has become a business, not a sport. Even with kids, sometimes before they hit high school, it's lost the fun and the game. I hate it. Why can't we let the kids play like they do on the Sandlot, leave the parents in the stands, and just have fun. Let them realize how much fun baseball can be while they're young.

Then maybe Manny Ramirez would play in the allstar game...

...and beat the Y&#!#!#s.
